The Stella Montis Meat Grinder: "On Deaf Ears" Walkthrough
If you've been trudging through the expansive vistas of the Dam, Stella Montis is going to be a rude awakening. Embark Studios has flipped the script here; we're trading open fields for tight, twisting corridors where the player-versus-player tension is through the roof. In "On Deaf Ears," you aren't just fighting ARC; you're fighting the claustrophobia of a map designed to force engagements.
Preparation and Prerequisites
Before you can even look at this quest, you need to clear "Groundbreaking" for Apollo back at Blue Gate. Tech Tip: If the quest doesn't pop immediately, perform a hard relog. Our analysis suggests a minor sync issue that a quick restart fixes.
Given that Stella is a "fingers on triggers" map, don't go in naked. We recommend a loadout featuring a Stitcher or Il Toro for close-quarters reliability. If you're running solo, bring a shield. You'll need it when those first-minute spawns turn into a shootout.
Phase 1: The Lobby and Business Centre
Your first stop is the Lobby ground floor. You’re looking for a small kiosk to the right of the security checkpoint in the northeast. This area is usually crawling with ARC ground units and Wasps. Clear the sector before you touch that computer, or you’ll be a sitting duck during the data transmission to Lance.
Next, rotate southeast to the Business Centre’s auditorium. This is a high-threat zone. ARC Shredders love to hover here, and getting caught in a charged shrapnel blast is a quick trip back to the morgue. Look for the computer at the front desk. If you see a weapons cache, play it smart—wait for the initial spawn heat to die down before committing to the objective.
Phase 2: Medical Research and the Assembly Exit
The Medical Research Wing is on the opposite side of the map. Take the Central Corridor through the Assembly section to get there. This area is a goldmine for high-value salvage like Flow Controllers and Ion Sputters, so keep your inventory space open. Data submission here is flexible; most computers in the individual rooms will trigger the objective, but the main lab is your safest bet.
The final stretch takes you north to the Assembly Workshops. Head to the upstairs office in the second room to the east. Grab the physical reports off the desk in the southeast corner. At this point, you’re likely heavy with loot. Don't backtrack to the Lobby if you don't have to; if you’ve got a Hatch Key, there’s an extraction point immediately to your east.
Rewards and Expert Analysis
Completing this marathon unlocks "On the Map," which shifts the action to the Spaceport. Here is the loot breakdown for your trouble:
- Navy Blue (Warden Outfit): A solid cosmetic upgrade for the Raider customization tab.
- 3x Lure Grenade & 5x Noisemaker: These are "distraction meta" items. Excellent for PVE-focused players looking to slip past ARC patrols.
- 1x Shaker: Tactical utility.
Our Take: If you aren't into the stealth-and-distract playstyle, these grenades are basically free currency. Sell them at Speranza and reinvest that cash into your weapon builds. Stella Montis doesn't forgive mistakes, but surviving "On Deaf Ears" proves you've got the situational awareness to handle ARC Raiders' most claustrophobic encounters.
