Version 3.8: An Extended Journey Towards 4.0

The decision to extend Version 3.8's duration is a clear signal from HoYoverse: something monumental is brewing in the development ovens for 4.0. While players will enjoy an extra two weeks with the current content, it also means a longer wait for the next major annual update. This extended period ensures ample time to delve into the new story, explore upcoming events, and strategically plan for character banners. The "Memories are the Prelude to Dreams" update culminates the extensive Amphoreus journey, promising a rich narrative experience that will keep players engaged right up to the doorstep of the next big release.

The Dahlia Takes Center Stage: A Nihility Master Unveiled

At the heart of Version 3.8 is the debut of a formidable new 5-Star playable character: The Dahlia, whose full name is Constance. This enigmatic figure, heavily tied to the Remembrance Path, makes a dramatic entrance after the final battle of Amphoreus, delivering a crucial twist. The Dahlia's appearance signals a quest to recover the Trailblazer's scattered and missing memories, leading players on an intriguing return to the dreamscape of Penacony. This memory-hunting adventure is uniquely told from the perspective of Firefly, shedding light on her initial entry into the dreamscape and her first encounter with the squad.

While lore-wise The Dahlia harnesses the power of Remembrance to fabricate memories, in-game she walks the destructive Path of Nihility. Her combat kit is designed to excel in teams focused on maximizing Break DMG. Key abilities include:

  • Gloomy Zone: Unleashes an area that allows allies' Toughness Reduction to trigger Super Break DMG even before an enemy's Weakness is broken.
  • Dance Partner: Invites one teammate to join her, allowing both her and the partner to deal additional Super Break DMG with each attack.
  • Ultimate Ability: When triggered after selecting a Dance Partner, this powerful ability applies the Type Weaknesses of both The Dahlia and her partner to enemies, setting up devastating follow-up attacks.

Banner Bonanza: Three Phases of Character Reruns

To compensate for the extended wait for Version 4.0, HoYoverse is introducing an unusual three-phase banner schedule, offering more opportunities for players to acquire fan-favorite characters.
