Protagonist Zero (S-Class Cosmos)
Key Pre-Reg Reward Haniel (A-Class Psyche)

The urban gacha scene is heating up. We’ve been tracking Neverness to Everness (NTE) through the trailers and the recent beta, and the character roster for Hethereau is finally taking a concrete shape. From dog-featured men to high-proof-loving waifus, the variety is exactly what you'd expect from a high-budget gacha contender. Here is our breakdown of the characters we've confirmed so far.

The Eibon Antique Shop Crew

The Eibon Antique Shop serves as a primary hub for several key players. Hotori (S-Class Cosmos) is the proprietress and a certified expert on treasures. While she wasn't playable in the beta, her love for a "strong drink or two" and her leadership role make her a highly anticipated pull for the May launch. Adler (A-Class Incantation) acts as the shop’s butler—a reliable, calming presence who handles the cooking, though we find his "never-opening eyes" a bit suspicious for a combat RPG.

The rest of the shop roster includes:

  • Daffodill (S-Class Chaos): A quiet bodyguard with a massive collection of identical eyepatches.
  • Edgar (A-Class Cosmos): The mature "old soul" of the group, despite his youthful appearance.
  • Sakiri (S-Class Incantation): A quirky, innocent type who brings a massive, hungry companion named Kiroumaru into the fray.
  • Nanally (S-Class Anima): The veteran of the group, boasting a heavy track record in anomaly containment.

Bureau of Anomaly Control (BAC)

If you're looking for the heavy hitters of the Hethereau meta, the BAC is where the tactical power lies. Baicang (S-Class Incantation) is already winning the popularity contest. As the Captain of ETD-4, he’s laidback and a bit of a troublemaker—an archetype that usually ends up being a fan-favorite carry. On the opposite end of the energy spectrum is Lacrimosa (S-Class Chaos). She’s perpetually exhausted, choosing to create constructs to do her work so she can keep dreaming.

The agency also features Fadia (S-Class Psyche), a cunning field agent you don't want to cross, and Skia (A-Class Lakshana), the squad 4 lieutenant who is constantly being mistaken for the captain. For those looking for a "work-in-progress" hero, Mint (A-Class Anima) is the agency's rookie who is frequently tricked by anomalies but aims for ace status.

Logistics and Couriers: Sterry Express

In NTE, the people delivering your packages are just as dangerous as the soldiers. Haniel (A-Class Psyche) is the standout here for F2P players; she is the designated reward if the game hits its 30 million pre-registration goal. She’s a social media influencer by day and a courier by night. Hathor (S-Class Lakshana) and Jiuyuan (S-Class Anima) round out the logistics team, though Jiuyuan remains a bit of a mystery as she was difficult to obtain during the beta testing phase.

The Protagonist and Progression Gates

Zero is the player’s S-Class Cosmos protagonist. In a welcome QoL move, you can swap between male and female forms after finishing the "In the Reflection" side quest.

One interesting mechanic to note is Chiz (S-Class Cosmos). Unlike most characters who are pulled via the standard gacha, Chiz is tied to your "city tycoon" level. You'll need to hit level 18 to unlock this shy banker. We'll be watching to see if more S-Class characters are gated behind lifestyle progression rather than just the gacha wheel.

Future Faces

While not fully detailed yet, we have eyes on four more characters spotted in early footage: Lingko, Nitsa, Elyms, and Iroi. As we approach that May release date, we expect to see their classes and rarities confirmed. For now, the roster looks balanced, but the real test will be how these Incantation and Cosmos classes interact in the high-level meta.
