The Heavy Hitter: Spider-Man 2 Lands on Service
Sony is finally dropping the big one. Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is the undisputed heavyweight of the February lineup. Bringing Peter Parker and Miles Morales together for a dual-protagonist swing through New York, it’s a massive get for anyone who hasn't pulled the trigger on a retail copy yet.
Our take? It’s a blast, even if it feels a bit crowded at times. As noted in the original 2023 review, the game is "at once a little simple and a little over-stuffed," yet it maintains an "immense charm and fluid, free-form style." If you’re looking for a pure technical showcase for your PS5, this is it. The traversal alone makes it worth the download space.
Strategic Synergy: Neva and the Indie Slate
The timing here is surgical. Sony and Nomada Studio just used the latest State of Play to announce Neva: Prologue, and now the original Neva is hitting the service. It’s a "poignant and precise" journey following Alba and her wolf companion. While some might find it "a tad melodramatic," its four-star pedigree from the creators of Gris makes it a must-play for fans of high-art platformers.
Beyond the action, we're seeing some serious emotional depth in this batch:
- Venba: A short, "beautiful slice-of-life tale" that uses cooking mechanics to explore family heritage.
- Season: A Letter to the Future: A meditative exploration game that perfectly balances the faster-paced titles in the list.
- Monster Hunter Stories 1 & 2: A great pivot for players who want the MonHunter world without the high-stress G-Rank grinds of the mainline series.
Racing, Rugby, and Retro
For the sim and sports fans, Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown and Rugby 25 provide some variety, though they face stiff competition from the heavy-hitting narratives this month. Echoes of the End: Enhanced Edition also rounds out the PS5 offerings for those looking for something new in the action-adventure space.
Premium subscribers get a specific nostalgic hit with Disney Pixar Wall-E. It’s a standard addition for the top tier, but it fits the "family-friendly" gap in the current catalog nicely.

Our verdict: This is one of the stronger mid-month updates we've seen recently. Between a flagship AAA title and critically acclaimed indies like Neva and Venba, there’s very little filler here.
