Deltarune Chapter 5 Walkthrough: How to Get Started

Chapter 5 is officially available in Deltarune, allowing players to continue their journey. You can dive in using a previous save file or start fresh, as I did for this playthrough. This guide covers the initial steps to get you moving through the new content.

The Honey Toast Quest

The chapter opens with your character jumping into a room and grabbing the first heart. Move to the next room, where you are tasked with warming a piece of toast. Use the toaster and wait exactly 10 seconds for it to finish. Once you have the honey toast, give it to Toriel; she will then drop her plan to surprise your brother. After the conversation ends, head outside.

Navigating to the School

Once you are outdoors, head straight, take a right, and follow the path to the right. You will encounter the Flower King, who shares a story about your mother’s love life and the difficulties of sustaining a household on her salary. To reach the school, take the path heading south and continue right until you arrive. Enter the school and head straight to find the black door that leads into the realm.

Inside the Castle

Upon entering the realm, you will meet up with Ralsei and Lancer. Inside the castle, you will face a wall puzzle where you must dodge descending bars. If you are hit, your progress will reset partially or entirely. At the end of this sequence, you will meet a mysterious character who offers their assistance.

Outside the castle, you can visit the store to browse items or check on your recruits at the cafe. When you head north again, you will find Lancer, who asks you to design a dress for Susie. There are many options available, and no choices are considered wrong.

Furnishing the Room

Continue forward until you reach Ralsei’s room with Susie. The room starts empty, but Susie commits to helping fill it. You can soothe Ralsei by encouraging her to be herself. Susie then returns with a garbage bin—the first piece of furniture. Once finished, exit back to the school with Susie. You will find Noelle waiting outside; after a brief exchange, she will join you and Susie as you continue your adventure.
