Grand Theft Auto 6 Confirmed for November 19, 2026

Rockstar Games has officially confirmed that Grand Theft Auto 6 will launch on November 19, 2026. After years of anticipation and development, the title is set to arrive on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S/X just in time for the holiday season.
Because the release of a title of this magnitude commands significant attention, several other developers have adjusted their own launch calendars to ensure their games have room to breathe. Microsoft, for instance, has moved the Fable reboot to early 2027. According to the company, this shift helps maintain a consistent release schedule for Xbox while allowing the team at Playground Games more time to finalize the project.
A Crowded September and October Schedule
While some titles have moved into the next year, others have solidified their spots in the months leading up to the November launch of Grand Theft Auto 6. September and October 2026, in particular, have become increasingly packed as studios look to secure their place before the market turns its focus to Vice City.
- The Blood of Dawnwalker: Rebel Wolves is launching this ARPG on September 3.
- Marvel's Wolverine: Insomniac Games is set to bring this action-adventure title to players on September 15.
- Control Resonant: Remedy Entertainment confirmed a September 24 release date for its upcoming ARPG.
- Silent Hill: Townfall: Screen Burn is bringing its survival horror title to consoles and PC on September 24.
- Onimusha: Way of the Sword: Capcom will launch this action-adventure game on September 24.
- Kingdom Hearts 1-3: Square Enix is bringing this compilation to the Nintendo Switch on October 8.
- Star Wars: Galactic Racer: Fuse Games has scheduled its racing title for October 6.
- Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen: Capcom’s expanded re-release is slated for October 9.
Jean-Charles Gaudechon, CEO of Remedy, previously noted that the studio was not looking to play it safe regarding release windows, but the finalization of the Control Resonant date ahead of the Rockstar giant confirms a desire for the title to establish itself earlier in the season.
Titles Still in Development
Not every anticipated project has pinned down a firm date. FromSoftware’s The Duskbloods was highlighted during the June 2, 2026, Sony State of Play, and while fans expect a closed test to occur over the summer, the studio has not yet announced if the game will launch before or after the industry-wide focus shifts to Grand Theft Auto 6 in November. As it stands, players have plenty of options to fill their libraries throughout the fall before finally dropping back into the world of Grand Theft Auto.
