Once Human Console Open Beta Hits Xbox Series X|S June 17
The apocalypse is coming to the big screen. The developers behind Once Human have announced the final console open beta for the supernatural survival game, bringing the Stardust-infected world to Xbox Series X|S starting June 17.
This test offers a chance for players to experience the game before its official launch. Participants can pre-download the client beginning June 17 at 5:00 PM PT, with servers going live just two hours later at 7:00 PM PT. The beta concludes on July 8 at 11:59 PM PT.
What to Expect in the Supernatural World
In Once Human, players take on the role of a Meta-Human navigating a reality torn apart by Stardust. The gameplay loop centers on gathering resources, constructing and defending a territory, and managing supernatural threats. A core mechanic involves capturing and utilizing Deviants—bizarre entities that can assist with base automation or combat—as well as hunting anomalies to harvest Mutagens that grant physical mutations and abilities.
During the open beta, players can choose from a variety of scenarios:
- Novice Scenario
- Manibus
- Endless Dream
- The Way of Winter
- RaidZone
Note that players in all scenarios except the RaidZone can also access the Visional Wheel S3: Aberrant Progeny content.
Earn Exclusive Launch Rewards
The development team is offering incentives for those who test the game. By reaching Level 20 with any character, players will earn a Cosmetic Selection Crate and a Weapon Skin Selection Crate to carry into the full release. Players participating exclusively in the RaidZone must accumulate at least three hours of playtime to qualify for these rewards.

Important Beta Details
Because this is a wipe test, most character progress will be reset once the beta concludes. However, the developers confirmed that all earned Starchrom, all collected cosmetics, and up to six captured Deviants will carry over to the final game.
Space in the beta is limited and managed on a first-come, first-served basis. If you participated in previous testing and still have the client installed, you will receive an automatic update; otherwise, you will need to re-download the title via the Xbox Insider Hub. The team is actively seeking bug reports and player suggestions via the in-game support menu and the official Once Human Discord.
