Atlus is continuing to peel back the curtain on Persona 4 Revival, but the latest look at the upcoming remake has fans questioning exactly how faithful it will be to the original 2008 title and its 2012 Golden expansion. While early information suggested a straightforward recreation of the classic RPG, recent social media activity from the developer indicates that at least one recognizable event is receiving a visual—and potentially structural—update.

A New Look for the Beauty Pageant

On June 29, the official Atlus West X account shared new promotional screenshots featuring the idol Rise Kujikawa. While the first two images highlight standard splash art and the social link interface, the third photo shows Rise on stage in a pink outfit, dated October 30. In both the original Persona 4 and Persona 4 Golden, this date marks the in-game beauty pageant.

The outfit worn by Rise in the image is not from the original game; it originates from the 2015 rhythm spinoff, Persona 4: Dancing All Night. This discovery has ignited a debate among the community regarding how Revival handles its source material. Some fans suggest this is simply a new optional costume, a common inclusion in modern Atlus RPGs. Others, however, believe it signals a departure from the original cutscene.

Potential Changes to Established Content

The beauty pageant is a multi-stage event involving both casual wear and a swimsuit segment. Because the new outfit appears during this specific narrative beat, there is speculation that Atlus may be adjusting how the sequence plays out. Some players have suggested that replacing the original casual wear with the Dancing All Night design could refresh the event, while others are hopeful that the swimsuit section—often cited as an outdated element—might be modified or removed entirely.
