Obtaining Your First Upgrade in Bellhart
Your journey begins in Bellhart, a settlement nestled between Greymoor and Shellwood. Here resides Pinmaster Plinney, the artisan who will upgrade your Needle. However, Bellhart is under a curse, and its inhabitants are hidden until the curse is lifted by defeating the Widow boss in the upper reaches of the town. This is a main story objective, so you won't miss it. Once the curse is broken and the townsfolk reappear, locate Pinmaster Plinney in the bellhome on the right side of the chamber and receive your first free upgrade.
Pale Oil Location #2: Whispering Vaults Crate Puzzle
The second Pale Oil is found within the Whispering Vaults sub-zone of the Citadel. In a large room to the left, you'll encounter a puzzle involving several crates. By strategically striking the crates, you create a path leading to an exit on the left. Observe the horizontal and vertical beams in the background; they indicate the direction the crates will move when struck. Successfully solving this puzzle will reward you with your second Pale Oil.

The third Pale Oil requires the completion of the 'Great Taste of Pharloom' quest.
