Star Fox Version 1.1.0 Update Adds Battle Mode Ahead of Launch

With Star Fox set to launch on the Nintendo Switch 2 tomorrow, Nintendo has deployed a mandatory day-one patch to ensure a smoother experience for pilots. Version 1.1.0 is available to download now, bringing several requested features and a comprehensive list of bug fixes to the game.
- Update Version: 1.1.0
- Key Additions: Battle Mode, Avatar Settings, Easy Campaign Mode
- Availability: Live now ahead of the June 25, 2026 launch
- Platform: Nintendo Switch 2
New Features and Difficulty Options
The most significant additions in this update are aimed at both competitive and accessibility-focused players. The inclusion of a Battle Mode provides a dedicated space for multiplayer skirmishes, while new Avatar settings allow for player customization. Additionally, Nintendo has introduced an Easy Campaign Mode, providing a more accessible entry point for those looking to experience the narrative without the standard level of challenge.
Squashing Bugs Before Takeoff
The patch notes detail a variety of fixes meant to address progress-blocking issues and incorrect scoring mechanics. Significant fixes include:
- Meteo and Solar: Resolved issues where using boost to overtake bosses would prevent level progression.
- UI and Progression: Fixed a rare hang occurring when accessing the Achievements and Replay Mission buttons simultaneously on the level select screen.
- Life Management: Corrected an error where selecting 'Restart -> Checkpoint' and then 'Quit' after collecting three gold rings would incorrectly cost the player a life.
- Challenge Accuracy: The challenge text for Solar has been updated to accurately reflect the goal: "Destroy 25 enemies and rocks with bombs," replacing the previous, confusing prompt.
- Scoring Logic: Addressed multiple instances where hit counts were incorrectly inflated during boss encounters or when using charged shots against specific environmental objects, such as Flip Bots on Meteo or force fields on Bolse.
These fixes also extend to the Sector X challenge "Destroy 10 Proximity Mines with a single bomb," which was previously failing to register completion despite meeting the requirements. Players preparing for their first mission on the Nintendo Switch 2 should ensure their console is connected to the internet to automatically pull down the 1.1.0 update before beginning their campaign.
