Baldur's Gate 3 Console Update Adds God Mode and 20 New Mods
Console players of Baldur's Gate 3 have received a significant expansion to their mod library, with Larian Studios vetting and uploading 20 new community-made additions over the past weekend. While the pace of console mod releases has become more sporadic as Larian shifts focus toward its next title, Divinity, the latest drop offers a variety of new mechanics, character options, and even a crossover nod to anime.
The headline addition for many will be the God Hero mod. This utility provides players with two toggleable passives: God Mode, which grants immortality and immunity to all damage types, and Hero Mode, which offers high power and increased resistance to damage. This follows a string of recent content arrivals for the console version, which has previously seen the addition of Dhampir and Sea Elf races, werewolf Shadowheart, and a muscly monk class.
The New Content Drop
The 20 new pieces of content cover a wide spectrum of gameplay adjustments, from character creation to combat mechanics. Among the most notable additions are:
- Half-Elf, Half-Orc Subrace: A new biological option for Half-Elf characters.
- Solo Leveling Daggers: Four progressive weapons themed after the anime Solo Leveling.
- Mantle of Blood: A Bhaal-themed cloak that grants the player a resurrection effect, turning them into a Blood Ghost upon falling in battle.
- Monk Subclasses: Two new options, including the Durge-themed Way of the Crimson Fist and Way of Steel, which allows monks to incorporate armor into their techniques.
- Origin Class Unlocker: A tweak allowing players to select any class for Origin characters during creation, including their starting gear.
- Paladin Customization: New mods allow Paladins to choose a specific deity to follow and add an 'Oath of the Hells' subclass focused on fire damage.
Visual and quality-of-life additions are also included in this update. Players can now access 461 new emotes, use Indoct's Subtler Piercings for more refined character aesthetics, or equip a hairstyle inspired by Edward Kenway from Assassin's Creed Black Flag. Additionally, the Interrupted Music Performance Fixer has been added to prevent mod conflicts during Bard performances.
Expanding Console Options
While the console mod library remains significantly smaller than the 18,000+ mods currently available on PC, these regular updates continue to bring parity to the experience. Other notable files in this batch include the Bernard Evolved summon, a powered-up version of the Everburn Blade, and new head presets for Elves, Drow, Half-Elves, and Humans.
For those looking to adjust their ruleset, several mods now include homebrew 'Feats on Even Levels' support, specifically for the Duskblade and Sword Dancers of Eilistraee classes. These updates are now live for players on console, continuing Larian's commitment to supporting the patch notes and modding community long after the game's initial launch.
