Motorsport Manager 2 Announced for 2027 Release

Fans of the original management sim can finally look forward to a sequel. Playsport Games and publisher Miniclip have officially announced Motorsport Manager 2, with a release window set for 2027. The announcement marks a return to the series, which has maintained a 'Very Positive' rating on Steam since its original debut.
- Title: Motorsport Manager 2
- Developer: Playsport Games
- Publisher: Miniclip
- Release Date: 2027
- Platforms: PC (Proton / Wine)
Project Lead Matt Hanlon noted that the team felt a strong pull to return to the franchise, citing the community's longevity as a primary driver for development. "Motorsport Manager has never really left us, and it clearly never left the community either," Hanlon said. "For years, fans have kept the game alive through mods, discussions, videos, feedback, and countless hours of play."
A Broader Motorsport World
The sequel aims to move beyond the scope of the first game by offering a much larger universe. Players will no longer be limited to specific formats, as the game will include disciplines ranging from Single Seater and GT to Endurance racing. According to Playsport Games, the goal is to provide creative freedom that isn't tethered to official real-world championship restrictions, allowing for a more authentic and dramatic simulation.
This expanded scope is backed by deeper team management systems. You can expect to handle everything from driver contracts and staff management to long-term financial planning and vehicle development. The race-day experience is also receiving an overhaul, with more reactive strategy options and dynamic decision-making influenced by weather, tyre wear, pit stops, and safety car interventions.
Community-Driven Development
Acknowledging the role that the community played in keeping the first game relevant, Playsport has confirmed that Motorsport Manager 2 will include full mod support from the moment it launches. The studio is also emphasizing an expanded storytelling system that focuses on the personalities, rivalries, and relationships that define the racing world.
While players wait for the 2027 launch, the original game remains available on PC and is currently seeing an 80% discount during the Steam Summer Sale. For those interested in the technical side, the sequel is confirmed to support Proton and Wine for Linux users.
