Street Fighter 6 Year 4 Kicks Off With New Fighter Yasmine

Capcom has officially pulled the curtain back on the next phase of Street Fighter 6. The start of Year 4, launching August 3, 2026, introduces a brand new face to the World Warrior roster: Yasmine. Hailing from the Philippines, Yasmine utilizes Eskrima—the nation's traditional martial art—to slice through the competition with her trusty knife.

A New Challenger from the Philippines

Yasmine’s journey began under the tutelage of her Kuya (older brother) and Lolo (grandfather). Her motivation shifted from simple sibling bonding to a desperate search after her brother mysteriously vanished. A chance encounter with a French supermodel’s videos on FooTube provided the spark she needed to step out into the world and begin her quest to find him.

For players who favor rushdown gameplay, Yasmine is designed to keep opponents guessing. She excels at zipping and gliding across the stage to close gaps, setting up her signature Bayani Mode. When active, her knife glows blue, granting her access to enhanced special moves and powerful follow-up hits.

Mastering Yasmine’s Moveset

Yasmine’s kit is built around mobility and trickery:

  • Daloy ng Tubig: A quick, forward-moving knife attack used for combos. The OD version can transition from a light attack into Super Arts.
  • Talim ng Hangin: A sweeping spin move that serves as a gap-closer. The medium version is safe on block, while the heavy version is plus, though slower to execute.
  • Mukha ng Langit: A front-flip maneuver with two unique follow-ups: Kulog (an eagle-like swipe) and Ulan (a spinning attack that strikes from behind).
  • Lipad ng Agila: A flurry of kicks designed as an anti-air tool or a combo finisher. The OD version grants invincibility on startup.
  • Pangil sa Likuran: A boomerang-style projectile that is slow to start but provides significant mix-up and combo potential.

Her Super Arts offer further tactical depth. Hiwa ng Kalangitan (Level 1) provides a defensive “get off me” tool with startup invincibility. Nakatagong Lakas (Level 2) allows her to use boosted special moves without draining Bayani Mode and grants access to Linya ng Liwanag, a dash-and-strike attack. Finally, Pamumukadkad ng Sampaguita (Level 3) serves as her ultimate cinematic finisher.

Year 4 Updates and Availability

The release of Yasmine coincides with a series of overall battle adjustments for all characters. Players looking to change up their look can unlock Yasmine’s Outfit 2 by maxing out her Acquisition Gauge in Avatar Arcade Mode or by using Fighter Coins.

Yasmine will be playable early for attendees of Evo Las Vegas from June 26–28. For everyone else, she becomes available on August 3, 2026, for owners of the Year 4 Ultimate or Character Pass. Looking further ahead, Capcom has confirmed that the Year 4 roster will eventually include a second new character, Arjun, alongside the previously announced Tifa from the Final Fantasy VII Remake series and Bosch from World Tour.
