Two Point Museum Celebrates 10 Years with New Content and Free Weekend

Two Point Studios is celebrating its tenth anniversary, and to mark the occasion, the team behind Two Point Museum has released a fresh update packed with community-requested features. Starting today, players can jump into the game to check out new anniversary-themed items, overhauled expedition mechanics, and a variety of quality-of-life improvements.

⚡ Quick Facts
  • Platform: PC, Xbox
  • Key Feature: Selectable exhibits on maxed-out expeditions
  • Free Weekend: June 20 to June 22
  • Twitch Drops Deadline: July 16

Direct Control Over Expeditions

One of the most frequent requests from the community has been a way to reduce the randomness of finding specific items. The development team has responded by adding a “Choose an Exhibit” option. Once a Point of Interest reaches its maximum Survey Level, players can now manually select the exhibit they want to find. This convenience comes with a trade-off: the expedition will require a higher cost and a longer duration to complete, and the quality of the resulting exhibit is not guaranteed.

Anniversary Festivities and New Content

To celebrate the studio's decade of work, players can outfit their staff in two new anniversary costumes: the Cake Topper and the Party Hat. Additionally, a new self-serve Anniversary Cake display item has been added, allowing both guests and staff to grab a slice to boost their Food needs. For those looking to expand their collections, Twitch Drops are also live. By watching drop-enabled streamers play the game until July 16, viewers can unlock the Milk Keg, the Leaflet Info stand, and the Ticket Reception desk.

Quality-of-Life and Gameplay Tweaks

The update also introduces several gameplay refinements. Non-art exhibits have received a new “Brush with Emotion” trait, allowing specific items like the Bashful Bust or Haunted Portrait to provide extra Buzz for Art Enthusiast guests. Other notable changes include:

  • Performance Stages can now be placed outdoors.
  • Trend Setter status effect duration has been increased from 90 to 120 days.
  • Improved lighting for the Memento Mile.
  • Bug fixes for the Expedition Rewards UI and various art-related traits.

Try Before You Buy

If you haven't yet jumped into the world of museum management, the studio is hosting a free weekend. Starting at 18:00 BST today, players can download and play the full game for free on Steam and Xbox. This trial period will remain active through June 22, giving newcomers a chance to test their skills at building and maintaining a successful museum.
