VALORANT Season 2026 Act 4 Adds Summit Map and 3v3 Retake Mode

Riot Games is kicking off the latest phase of its tactical shooter with the release of VALORANT Season 2026 // Act 4. The update, which is available today across PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5, brings a new map, a specialized game mode, and a fresh batch of cosmetics to the title.
Summit: A New Mountainous Battleground
The centerpiece of this update is Summit, a 5v5 map situated within a former Radiant monastery in the mountains of China. Lore-wise, this is the academy where the agent Sage trained before joining the VALORANT Protocol.
Designed with a traditional two-site, three-lane layout, Summit introduces a mechanical twist: three droppable walls scattered across A Site, B Site, and Mid. Once these are activated, they permanently alter the map’s geometry, cutting off rotation routes and blocking sightlines for the remainder of the round.
To encourage players to learn the new layout, Riot is placing Summit directly into the Competitive queue. For the first two weeks, players will only lose 50% of their standard Ranked Rating for defeats on the map, while still earning full points for victories. A dedicated Summit-only playlist is also live for the first week.
Retake Mode
For those looking for a more condensed experience, Act 4 introduces the Retake mode. This 3v3 format focuses entirely on post-plant tension. With the Spike planted at the start of each round, the game becomes a best-of-nine contest where the first team to win five rounds takes the match.
The mode features randomized loadouts and escalating equipment options, intended to keep the stakes high and the gameplay varied across shorter play sessions.
Blackspyre Collection and Battlepass
The update also debuts the Blackspyre Collection, which features a mystical, sci-fi aesthetic. The bundle includes weapon skins for the Phantom, Sheriff, Spectre, and Ares, alongside a new melee weapon called the Divide.
The Act 4 Battlepass has also been refreshed. Free track rewards include the Sky Reaper Ghost, while the premium track offers the Sky Reaper Sword melee, the Tacti-Guild Phantom, the Intertwine Guardian, and various sprays, gun buddies, and player cards.
VALORANT remains a staple of the competitive Esports scene and continues to see regular updates across its multi-platform footprint.
