Genshin Impact 6.7 Release Date, Banners, and Frost Moon Guide

HoYoverse is set to launch the Genshin Impact 6.7 update, titled Luna VIII, on Wednesday, July 1, 2026. Maintenance for the transition begins on Tuesday, June 30, and typically lasts for five hours. Players will receive at least 300 Primogems as compensation for the downtime, with an additional 60 Primogems granted for every hour maintenance extends beyond the five-hour window.

New Frost Moon Area and Quests

The headline addition for version 6.7 is the Frost Moon, a new area that takes players beyond the skies of Teyvat. By boarding a spacecraft, you can explore this lunar landscape, which includes a suspended space station and a treacherous lunar sea.

To coincide with this, the new Moon Gazing quest series tasks players with a lunar adventure alongside Columbina and a mysterious new companion. Additionally, the permanent Sunny Summer Fontinalia questline returns players to Fontaine for a special film festival event.

Version 6.7 Banners

HoYoverse has confirmed a stacked lineup of characters for this update, including the debut of the five-star character Sandrone.

Phase One

  • To the Looking-Glass the Mademoiselle Said: Features Sandrone.
  • Starry Night's Whispers: Features Citlali.

Phase Two

  • Somnias a Luna: Features Columbina.
  • Reign of Serenity: Features Raiden.

The update also introduces the Lightrace Wish banner. Similar to Chronicled Wish, this special banner allows you to choose from a pool of five-star characters—including Yae Miko, Cyno, Wriothesley, Qiqi, and Mizuki—and weapons like Kagura's Verity and the Staff of the Scarlet Sands. Note that Lightrace Wish and Chronicled Wish banners share the same pity and pull counts.

Events and Optimizations

The 6.7 update brings a mix of new and returning activities:

  • Sunny Summer Fontinalia: The primary summer event featuring minigames and a Fontaine-based storyline.
  • Final Long-Range Sightlines: A new shooting minigame.
  • Dance Dance Easy-Breezy Disco: A returning rhythm-based challenge.
  • Ley Line Overflow: Provides double drops for Mora and EXP materials.

Quality-of-life improvements include a faster dialogue option, allowing you to skip to the next line without waiting for animations to finish. Furthermore, the Witch's Revelation feature introduces permanent buffs for characters including Qiqi, Yae Miko, Wriothesley, Cyno, and Beidou. Genius Invokation TCG also receives a content injection, adding new cards and the return of the Forge Realm’s Temper and Heated Battle modes.
