Granblue Fantasy: Relink – Endless Ragnarok Arrives July 9 on PlayStation

High-flying action RPG Granblue Fantasy: Relink is expanding on July 9, 2026, with the launch of its massive new expansion, Granblue Fantasy: Relink – Endless Ragnarok. Bringing new story content, fresh roster additions, and systems that overhaul combat, the expansion aims to build upon the foundation laid by the 2024 original.
- Release Date: July 9, 2026
- Platforms: PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4
- New Playable Characters: 6 (Gallanza, Maglielle, Beatrix, Eustace, Fraux, Fediel)
- Key Features: Summon mechanic, Chaos difficulty, Conflux mode
New Combat Mechanics: Summons and Chaos Difficulty
The core of Endless Ragnarok is its new Summon system. Players can earn summons throughout the narrative and call upon them during combat. A key strategic advantage is the invincibility frames granted to the player while a summon is active, allowing for clutch counters against lethal boss attacks. When performing a full chain of Skybound Arts under specific conditions, players can trigger a Primal Burst, where Lyria commands a summon to deliver a high-damage follow-up attack.
For players seeking a sharper challenge, the expansion introduces the Chaos difficulty tier. This mode features merciless adversaries, including the apocalyptic beasts known as ragnalia. Bosses in this tier utilize "EX Burst" attacks, signaled by a distinct purple aura, forcing players to read telegraphs and master dodge windows to survive.
Expanding the Roster and Endgame
The playable roster grows by six characters: Gallanza, Maglielle, Beatrix, Eustace, Fraux, and Fediel. During hands-on sessions, Gallanza proved to be a heavy-hitting powerhouse with his spear-axe, while Beatrix offered a more technical playstyle that requires cycling through offensive, defensive, and recovery buffs.
Solo players are also getting a dedicated endgame experience with the Conflux mode. This rogue-lite inspired, single-player challenge tasks players with clearing sequential zones to earn gear. After each objective, players choose one of three randomized temporary perks, creating a highly replayable loop for those who prefer to bypass multiplayer matchmaking.
For those new to the series, a playable demo of the main Granblue Fantasy: Relink title is currently available on the PlayStation Store ahead of the expansion's release. For more on the latest PlayStation titles, keep checking back for updates.
