Nocturne Brings Rhythm Combat to PC This September

Pracy Studios is moving into the final stretch for Nocturne, its long-gestating RPG that blends narrative exploration with rhythm-based combat. The title is officially set to hit Steam on Thursday, September 24, 2026.
To coincide with the June Steam Next Fest, the studio has released a significantly expanded demo. While previous previews were limited to roughly 15 minutes, this new version offers over 90 minutes of gameplay, covering the entire first chapter and a portion of the second. This demo introduces two boss encounters, updated combat mechanics, and a revamped equipment and upgrade system.
A Digital Afterlife with Symphonic Combat
The game’s premise follows a protagonist named Karma who wakes in a decaying digital afterlife. Expecting to find their brother, Karma instead discovers that a millennium has passed and the world is on the verge of being deleted. Accompanied by a mischievous boy and a giant orange fish, Karma must navigate this pixel-art environment to uncover the source of the corruption.
Combat is where the title’s rhythm mechanics take center stage. Rather than relying on menu-based input, players engage robotic enemies in battles synchronized to an original symphonic rock soundtrack. For the boss themes, Pracy Studios collaborated with the Slovak National Symphony Orchestra to record live performances. The full release promises a total of 101 playable tracks.
Features for Performance and Accessibility
For players focused on mastery, the latest demo unlocks Arcade Mode. This addition features dedicated leaderboards and achievements, providing a space for score-chasing outside of the primary narrative. The inclusion of an Arcade Mode is a strategic fit for the Steam Deck, offering a way to engage with the rhythm mechanics in shorter, high-intensity sessions.
Pracy Studios has also implemented a range of accessibility options to accommodate different playstyles and needs. The game includes six difficulty settings, alongside a new per-column Autoplay mode designed to allow players with mobility challenges to experience the combat with one-handed inputs.
Steam Deck and Linux Support
While the studio is targeting PC and Steam Deck for the September launch, the technical requirements for Linux users currently rely on Proton support. Pracy Studios has indicated that it is keeping the door open for potential ports to other platforms and operating systems, provided the game performs well upon release. Given that the project is built in Unity, the team retains the flexibility to explore further technical expansions in the future.
Prospective players can access the demo on Steam now to test the rhythm combat and performance ahead of the September launch.
