Apex Legends Season 29 Split 2 Patch Notes: Legend and Weapon Changes

The mid-season update for Apex Legends has arrived, bringing a significant shake-up to the roster and the loot pool. Season 29 Split 2 is now live, introducing targeted adjustments for several legends and a refresh to weapon attachments.

⚡ Quick Facts
  • Update Date: June 23, 2026
  • Key Focus: Legend balance and weapon hop-up rotation
  • New Hop-Up: Executioner (Peacekeeper & Mastiff)
  • Major Legend Updates: Ballistic, Pathfinder, Seer

Legend Balance Updates

Respawn Entertainment has implemented a wide range of changes this split, specifically targeting Ballistic and Pathfinder for major utility adjustments.

Ballistic

Ballistic is seeing a substantial rework to his kit. He now respawns with his Sling weapon active. His Tactical, 'Whistler,' has been tuned to apply an overheat debuff to only one weapon, with damage increased to 50 and the duration bumped to 15 seconds. He now carries two tactical charges. Additionally, his Ultimate now grants a sprint speed boost to both Ballistic and his teammates within range.

Pathfinder

Pathfinder’s mobility has been enhanced. He now has two tactical charges on a flat 20-second cooldown, removing the previous progressive cooldown system. His zipline projectile launch speed is faster, and the cooldown for his Ultimate has been reduced from three minutes to two. Furthermore, he now tucks his legs when riding horizontal ziplines, making him a smaller target.

Seer

Seer’s Heartbeat Sensor has received quality-of-life improvements, including faster activation speeds and more consistent delay times. His Tactical now halts moving enemies more effectively, and his Ultimate now triggers a two-second scan of the area upon deployment, highlighting enemies and revealing footprints of cloaked players within the zone.

Other Legend Changes

  • Axle: Knocked players can no longer slide across ziplines while under the effect of a Nitro Gate. His Ultimate, 'Kickstart,' now displaces victims on a parabolic arc.
  • Mad Maggie: Tactical cooldown increased from 22 to 28 seconds.
  • Valkyrie: The ability to land faster from skydiving has been removed.
  • Conduit: Tactical cooldown increased from 27 to 30 seconds; the 'Enduring Barrier' upgrade no longer regenerates shields through ring damage.

Weapon and Loot Adjustments

The weapon meta is also shifting with this update. Magazine sizes for the Hemlok Breach AR have been reduced across all tiers. The EVA-8 and Mozambique have received small increases to their handling speed.

The loot pool sees a notable addition with the Executioner hop-up, which can be equipped on the Peacekeeper and Mastiff. It rewards players with 50 shield regeneration over 5 seconds after a knock. Other changes include the removal of Dual Shell from the Mastiff and Disruptor Rounds from the Peacekeeper. The Graffiti Mod has been removed from the Longbow DMR, Wingman, and Mozambique, and is now available for the Flatline and Volt.
